Please join us for a double feature film screening of “The Yes Men Fix the World” (2009) and “The Yes Men are Revolting” (2015). Artist-activists’ The Yes Men operate under the mission statement that lies can expose truth. Posing as various industrious alter-egos, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno lie, spoof, scheme and impersonate to expose the faces behind corporate corruption and environmental disaster through processes of what the artists call "identity correction”. Between “fixing the world” and “revolting”, The Yes Men aim to raise awareness about some of the pressing social and political issues facing the human species today.

These movies are being screened as part of a seminar on Ephemerality and Sustainability in Contemporary Art, and will be discussed during the December meeting of the KIAS funded Research-Creation and Social Justice CoLABoratory. For more information on the CoLab or to attend our next meeting, contact Jessie Beier.

This event is made possible by the generous support of The Research-Creation and Social Justice CoLABoratory, the Arts-Based Research Studio, and the Kule Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) at the University of Alberta.
